The Lunenburg Opera House holds a significant place in the town’s musical and cultural scene and it maintained its entertainment function for more than a century since the building first opened. It is now the main stage of the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and various other concerts and events.
A renovation will ensure the preservation and continuous usage of this heritage building. The intervention includes a more functional entrance lobby, offices for the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Society, green rooms and dedicated space for performers, multipurpose rooms for the community, and a restaurant lounge to support the venue. An added elevator to the side of the building provides a barrier free access to all of the floor
